ZolaPages started with a simple observation: in every African WhatsApp group across the country, someone is asking for a hairdresser, a tailor, an immigration solicitor, or a handyman.

And in every group, someone is also advertising: a Friday batch of jollof, a new salon opening, a tax consultant taking on new clients. We connect the two — without the noise, the spam, or the broadcast forwards.

We started in the East Midlands — Leicester, Nottingham, Derby — because that's where our community is, and because the directory is most useful when it's deep, not wide. We'll grow from here.

What we believe

• Free, always. Basic listings are free. We won't charge people to be findable.
• Real businesses, real owners. Verified means we've checked. Featured means they pay. We'll always be transparent about which is which.
• Community over algorithm. We don't hide behind opaque ranking. We surface the best of the community and let you contact them directly.

How we make money

Listings are free. We earn from optional Premiumsubscriptions (£10/month) which give businesses featured placement, more photos, a verified badge, and lead analytics. We also plan to introduce a small per-lead fee for high-value enquiries, sponsored category placements, and partnerships with FCA-approved money-transfer services. We'll always tell you when something is promoted.
